Princess
summary
A princess without a nation is just a pretty girl in a hot dress.
intro
Just the other day I was speaking to a dolphin mother. Her daughter was born in the territorial waters of a nation famous for human rights vioaltions and state-sponsored terrorism.
After her daughters birth, their pod left the waters of North Korea and travelled east across the Pacific. Off the coast of Canada, her daughter was grieveously wounded by the propeller of a Disney Cruise ship. Over many long months she nursed her young pup back to health.
Since, her daughter has grown into adulthood, a wonderful dolphin, kind and considerate, a capable fisher, a charming conversalionalist, a great travelling companion, a best friend, and comrade of the seas.
Should that mother dolphin shun her daughter just because her daughter is from a nation with a terrific human rights record?
What possible justification is there for me to support economic sanctions against any nation?
Why should I refrain from purchasing goods and services from the citizen of Russia, Syria, Iran, or any other pariah state?
What did that citizen do to deserve my scorn?
Why shouldnt that citizen be able to make a sale to me that will support her family? Doesnt she deserve the means to purchase food, clothing, shelter for her family? Why should her children suffer for the faults of her nations political and financial leaders?
How are your policies fair or just?
You treat your own planets people and environment as mere pawns for your naked greed and power and you criticize me for supportive and positive relationships with the poor and downtrodden of your world?
How dare you, Mr. President? How dare you?
